Doomed Tales of the Last Days eBook G10 Writers Reviews
The stories here are very short, very quick reads, about 1-3 pages each. Each story describes a character or a few characters and their last day or days as they discover that the world is ending or how they are biding their time with the world as it is ending. It is a very interesting character driven piece, and very interesting look into the personalities at the different characters for such. Most apocalyptic writing is focused soley on the destruction itself to where this takes such an interesting turn with the sociological premise of focusing on people and their reactions to the end of the world, and it varies greatly. I think that what makes this stand out so much for me from all the other apocalyptic reads out there is definitly the perspectives from the people in this book, and that I think if the world did come to an end right now it would very much be exactly like that, not utter chaos but much like how many people reacted in this book, so differently but each their own and in regards to their own persona. I felt a sort of realness to each character and wondered if they weren't based on actual people, and they seemed pretty raw. Definitly a good read if you're into end-of-the-world fiction as I am.
Now here's a great chance to read flash fiction at it's finest! If you haven't been exposed to flash fiction writing before now, this book has it all! You'll be hooked from the first story!!
I loved all these fine writers' creative spin on a subject we all have thought of, confess now, at least once in our lifetime!!

Great read sumtimes sad and goofy
I didn't find any of these short stories particularly imaginative, unique or even well written. In fact, it seemed like a collection of essays produced by a college intro writing class given the assignment "stories about the end of the world". All in all the collection left me flat.
This book wasn't what I expected it to be. I had hoped it would be stories that had more supernatural content in it, instead all the stories had a modern day setting. None of the stories every delved into how the world was ending and why; just that all the short story characters knew the end was coming. I'm sure some people will enjoy this, but I didn't. Thankfully I got it for free.
